STUDY TOPICS

  • “WHY” is IRRELEVANT!
    • Whatever the reason (“the WHY”) for not obeying protocol, instruction, direction, or being accountable is irrelevant – it does not matter.
      • Examples:
        • If you were asked by a person in authority to do something, it should not matter WHY it has to be done. WHY is irrelevant.
        • Your WHY should not be used as an excuse to combat WHY you did not accomplish a task, or walk out your part of the vision. WHY is irrelevant.
        • You shouldn’t be using WHY to defend yourself. WHY is irrelevant.
  • Elements of “The Prepared Life:”
    • CHARACTER – Taking heed to thyself and to doctrine.
    • STUDY & CONSECRATION – A regular regiment of study (not just to minister, but to live), always having your “guns loaded.”

Midterm Study Guide

The Process of Complete Salvation (5 Steps):

  1. Realize and recognize that you are a sinner.
    1. Psalms 51:5: “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.”
    2. Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
    3. 1 John 1:9: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
  2. Repent – Change your heart, mind, and your direction.
    1. Acts 2:38: “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
    2. 1 John 1:9: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
    3. 2 Corinthians 7:10: “For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.”
  3. Believe & confess.
    1. Romans 10:9-10: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” KNOW VERBATIM
    2. 2 Corinthians 5:21: “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
  4. Be baptized: Two baptisms (the baptism of water and the baptism of the Holy Spirit).
    1. Acts 2:38: “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
  5. Live a life of obedience.
    1. 2 Corinthians 5:15: “And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.”
    2. James 1:22: “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”

5 steps to living a life of obedience:

  1. Develop a personal relationship with God through the Word.
    1. John 8:31-32: “Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
  2. Develop a relationship with God through prayer.
    1. Luke 18:1: “And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint.”
    2. 1 Thessalonians 5:17: “Pray without ceasing.”
  3. Plug-in to a bible-believing church.
    1. 1 Corinthians 12:18: “But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.”
    2. Jeremiah 3:15: “And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.”
  4. Fellowship with other believers.
    1. Hebrews 10:25: “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”
  5. Get involved in ministry to others (Be a witness to others).
    1. Hebrews 6:10: “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.”
    2. And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; (Mark 16:15-17 KJV)

The Process of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with Evidence of Speaking in Tongues (8 Steps):

  1. The Holy Spirit is a FREE gift given on the day of Pentecost.
    1. Acts 2:1-4: “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
  2. There is one qualification: You must be born again.
    2. John 14:15-17: “If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
  3. There is scriptural reference about the laying on of hands to receive the baptism and also without the laying on of hands to receive.
    1. Acts 10:44: “While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.”
    2. Acts 19:6: “And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.”
  4. You must know what to expect.
    1. Acts 2:4: And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
  5. All fears and false teachings must be set aside.
    1. Luke 11:11-13: “If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” KNOW VERBATIM
  6. Pray to receive.
    1. Luke 11:13: “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?”
  7. All distractions must be minimized.
    1. 1 Corinthians 14:33, 40: “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. Let all things be done decently and in order.”
  8. Praise & worship can enhance the receiving process.
    1. Psalm 100:4: “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”

 Four Core Values of FLIC:

  1. Understanding the Word.
    • 4:7: “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.”
    • 3:13: “Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.”
  2. Building relationships.
    • 18:24, “A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly : and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.”
    • John 15:12-15, “12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have lovedyou.13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I commandyou.15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.”
    • 133:1-3, “1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! 2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; 3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.”
  3. Becoming God pleasers.
    • 10:38, “Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.”
    • Heb 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
  4. Valuing people for who they are and not what they do.
    • Matt 25:40, “And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”
    • 5:3-12, “3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. 10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad : for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.”

What does FLAME consist of:

(Information, Impartation, Training, Application)

Information is taught, impartation is caught.

FLAME – what does it stand for?

FaithLife Leadership and Ministerial Education

Spiritual Authority

  • Spiritual Authority – Watchman Nee
  • God & delegated authority are one.
  • The privileged & talented are going to be more susceptible to rebelling against spiritual authority.
  • ***Example: Numbers 12 (Miriam & Aaron example)
  • What is the root cause of deception?
    • Disobedience to divine authority; or lawlessness.
  • Why is deception able to fully run its course unchecked?
    • Where there is not true submission to God’s authority (which includes the Word of God), there will be a great big door open for the spirit of deception.

Gospel vs. Law of inclusion

  • Gospel of Inclusion – All men are saved; they just don’t know it. Once saved always saved.
  • Law of Inclusion – we are all born into sin, we were in Adam. We are saved by one man, Jesus.

Born again experience

First 3 Steps of Salvation

Two Reasons You SHOULDN’T Have to Get Saved:

  1. Fear (Hell, dying, losing family)
  2. Opportunity

How do you know when you’re broken?

Whatever you want me to do Lord, I will do it. That’s when you know you’re broken. If or when I see that in the Word, I will adjust.

Breeding ground for deception:

Ignorance. Deception gets you into rebellion.

You can never take people to a place you’ve never been, you need revelation.

Revelation knowledge

You must have enlightenment and understanding or in other words revealed knowledge.

Logos vs. Rhema:

Logos is written word. Rhema word is revealed word.

How do you receive revelation?

1) Meditate on the word of God

2) Ask for it

If you walk in a church & everyone is speaking in tongues and you don’t understand, why is that?

You are either ignorant, unlearned or an unbeliever.

Gift of tongues can become:

A sign to the unbeliever

4 Prerequisites to Receive Baptism of H.S.

  1. Hunger and Thirst (John 7:37-39, Matt. 5:6, Isa. 55:1)
  2. By the hearing of faith (Gal. 3:1-5, Rom. 10:13-17)
  3. Understand that God doesn’t change (Heb 13:8)
  4. Understand that God is NOT a respecter of persons (Acts 10:34)

Point of Contact:

The moment in time or the occurrence in which the recipient has decided that the power of God will go into action or take effect.

What if the candidate doesn’t receive the baptism?

1) Take the pressure off of yourself (you’re only the vessel, not the source)

2) Encourage the candidate not to walk in condemnation

3) Tell them to stay hungry

How do you know you’re hearing God?

  1. He will never separate himself from his word.
  2. He will never separate himself from his man/woman of God.
  3. God leads you, he doesn’t drive you.
  4. God is not going to have you go against your spouse.

Spiritual Gifts:

  1. Spoken gifts: Tongues, Interpretation of Tongues, Prophecy
  2. Power gifts: Faith, Healings, Working of Miracles
  3. Revelatory gifts: Wisdom, Knowledge, Discerning of Spirits

A prophet must be fluent in: At least 2 of the revelatory gifts and the gift of prophecy.

4 Definitions of Rededication:

  1. The act of restrengthening or reaffirming commitment.
  2. The act of reestablishing or restoring a previous relationship.
  3. To declare loyalty or allegiance again.
  4. To repair or reinstate a former agreement or pact.

Rededication:

  1. Nothing can be rededicated that hasn’t been dedicated.
  2. Two-fold process
    1. Repair a breach or gap caused by act of sin. 1 John 1:9, Malachi 3:7, Psalm 51:10
    2. To establish a closer more intimate walk with The Lord Jesus. James 4:8, Phil 2:10-13, John 6:44,45
    3. Emphasize righteousness and God’s willingness to restore, receive, and forget.
      1. Avoid condemnation.
      2. Encourage them that the issue is settled.
    4. Pray the process.
    5. Briefly exhort & affirm.
